Rose not bothered by Heat

MVP!!!! MVP!!!! The crowd just kept chanting MVP!!!! MVP!!!!!

On a night where Lebron James didn't play and Chris Bosh taking the 4th quarter off with a leg injury the big Bulls vs Heat matchup become a show down between two Chicago kids. And guess what the Chicago crowd was cheering Drose as he lead the Bulls past Dwade, or public enemy #1 in Chicago, and his Miami Heat.

But even as these two extremely talented guards matched blow for blow it was Kyle Korver hitting the shot he was brought to Chicago to make that which won the game for the Bulls.

The Bulls won 99-96 as Rose lead all scorers with 34 with Wade right on his heals with 33. Drose also added 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. Anyone else think he was amped up for this matchup with Wade who had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks.

The crowd was into the game from the beginning booing Bosh heavily when he was announced during the starting lineup but was nothing to what Wade received even though I did catch some people cheering him on that weren't wearing Heat jerseys. Gone are the days of seeing Wade jerseys and him getting a mixed reaction in his home town. While I didn't see any Wade jerseys I did see a few of Lebron's but much less then when he and the Cavs came to town. Wade was booed almost everytime he touched the ball and a few idiots in the crowd cheered when Wade was laying on the court hurt in the first half but Dwade silienced those idiots when he made a 3 to give the Heat a 1 point lead late.

Minus a bad second quarter the Bulls had dominated the game outscoring the Heat by 17 combined in the first and third. They even started the third quarter with a 17-0 run. However in the second the Heat outscored the Bulls by 14. The Bulls dominated the glass even without Noah while the Heat like most teams shot very well from beyond the arc against the Bulls.

These teams will face off only three times this season with one more game here in Chicago shortly after the all-star break and the one and only game in Miami in early March. It is possible depending on when Noah returns that these two teams might not play each other at full strength till the playoffs.

This was the second straight Saturday that the Bulls were able to knock off one of the top tier teams in the East. First it was Boston and now Miami so the question is when will the experts start to include Drose, Boozer and the rest of the Bulls as part of that upper tier. I think with a legit MVP candidate in Rose, who is the only player in the league averaging at least 24 points and 8 assists, and two signature wins I think the time is now.

Bulls have a busy week traveling in Memphis on Monday and then hosting the Bobcats, Mavs and Cavs. Looks like 30 wins by end of the month is a sure thing with them sitting at 27 with 7 to go.
