Hello my friends and welcome to GagaSportsWorld. This will be no ordinary blog page. In here anything goes! My goal is to seek the truth and get to the root of the problem in sports today. We will cover the hot topics right off the presses all the while dropping some fun pop culture on your dome piece. Today there is so much hypocrisy in sports it can make 'ya sick. Especially in the last 5 years. Are the glory days over or am I just living in the past? Were athletes back in the days just as fallible? Mickey Mantle says "yes" but Gaga says "no". Today Daft Punk will tell 'ya that athletes are better, faster and stronger. I do have to agree with that statement. But I will come and make this statement, today athletes are all about themselves, stats and having a good time. That's right I said it....Here's four examples.
Tiger-Boys will be boys but Tiger? Gaga has to admit, I was even shocked! Even Golf's goldenboy likes to gallavant when not competing. It seems that Tiger's putter has been very purky. It's obvious that his whole persona was contrived. They made him out to be this golf addicted, monogamous father. When really he was a party going, womanizing, liar. Now i'm not taking anything away from Tiger's talent. In my humble opinion he is the greatest golfer that ever lived. Yet, just when you thought you can chalk one up for the good guys it comes out that Tiger had us all snowed. The worst thing Tiger did was get married. I respect marriage and hold it somewhat sacred but how do you cheat on your kids? Tiger you should've remained single and stick your driver in as many woman as you want. ex. Derrick Jeter
Bud Selig & Steroids- Conspiracy my friends? Gaga thinks so. Looking back on baseball in the late '90's and 2000's I feel like a shmuck for not calling it out that something was up. Records were being broken and Home Run numbers were jumping into the mid 50's and 60's. I mean I always suspected steroid abuse but I guess I never wanted to believe it. Well believe it my friends, Mark McGuire had more needles in them then Keith Richards. The saddest day was when McGuire, Palmeiro and Sosa went before Congress and took an oath. It's one thing to lie to girls but to lie to Congress! Are you kidding me. The only positive that came out of this was the mystery of Rafael Palmeiro was finally revealed. Now I know why he took Viagra, it was because of the steroids. But why do Viagra commercials? You crazy Rafael. It's clear to me that Bud Selig was in on the conspiracy. You think he didn't know that steroid abuse was going on meanwhile my mom could've broken Roger Maris' record. He knew it was but he didn't care. Record breaking Home Runs fill the seats and get more people into Cooperstown .
Michael Phelps- Even Phelps smokes herb! I love it! Now Gaga ain't a pot smoker anymore but good for Phelps for smokin' the sweet cheeba. The sad thing was he got caught. What's wrong with our 8 Gold Medal winning swimmer getting high with his friends? Anyone who thinks Lebron and Carmello ain't puffin' are dreaming. People were outraged that Mr. Phelps was getting high. I'd be outraged if he wasn't. Most 23 year old kids are getting high nowadays. But that's a different story. Now people being outraged about drug use I somewhat understand but after Michael's out of training and in between races. Who cares! Let him be 23! Now he's doing Subway commercials bragging about how much he eats. Munchies...I think so.
Plaxeco/Gilbert Arenas-Now hear Gaga sees a major situation on our hands. Guns in the club and the locker room freaks me out. Now I know the other side of the argument; the athletes feel threatened for being in the limelight and carry guns for protection. But in a club? In the locker room? What happened to the days where one can feel safe? Is it a macho thing to carry a gun? Now Plaxeco, you live in my city and I have been to many, many clubs. I have never felt the need to carry a gun. Now i'm not famous and i'm not black but still I consider myself a bad mofo but still no firearms. Gilbert, you living in the Wild Wild West? Pulling a gun on a teammate in the locker room. You can't write this stuff. The people I feel bad for are the fans. Actually I don't feel bad for Giant fans but I feel bad for Wizards fans. If I lost a player to gun possession I would not be happy unless it was Chris Duhon.
In summary, sports is like the real world. It's just not what it seems. They try to forcefeed you the Hollywood ending and stick it down your throat but it's just not that way. So keep your eyes open my friends...seek truth, find wisdom.
