A day after Montee Ball shocked some (myself excluded) by returning to Wisconsin for his senior season, Peter Konz is reportedly leaving for the NFL. There hasn't been an official announcement as of yet, but that could just be a formality.
Both the Wisconsin State-Journal and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel are reporting that sources are telling them that Konz will declare for the NFL draft this spring. He's reportedly receive a "high first round" grade by the NFL evaluation board.
If that is the case, hey, more power to you. Had Ball received that type of grade we may be talking about both leaving early.
So, what does this mean for the Badgers in 2012?
I'll go more in depth on that in a later story, but for now that means we'll be replacing 3 starters along the offensive line. The most likely replacement? I see that being a battle between Kevin Zeitler and Ryan Groy. I'd give the edge to Zeitler at this point, only because of what we saw out of the two of them in the games that Konz missed after dislocating his ankle this past season.
