Alabama is one of the final four schools that Marcus Thornton - a 6'7 forward from Georgia - is considering signing with for the 2010-2011 season. The other schools are Georgia, Georgia Tech and Texas. Alabama and Georgia Tech seem to be the favorites due to the chance for playing time in Thornton's freshman year.Thornton had a monster senior year at Atlanta's Westlake High School, averaging 24 points and 12 rebounds and leading his team to the state championship game. If he were to sign with Alabama there is a good chance he will comprise a formidable starting frontcourt tandem with returning junior, JaMychal Green.
