Tonight the Celtics were in Toronto for their second matchup of this preseason against the Bosh-less Raptors. After taking care of business in the first game at the TD Garden, the Celtics looked to do the same. This time, however, they were without Shaquille O'Neal, Paul Pierce, Delonte West, and Stephen Lasme. For the entirety of the game, outside of a late run by Toronto, the Celtics outplayed the Raptors and came away with a 117-112 victory.
- Rondo led the team tonight with 21 points and 5 assists. The most shocking part of his night was his 12-15 showing from the free throw line. No that isn't a misprint, he really shot that well from the stripe. Where are all those people who said he should have hired a shooting coach this summer?
- After bashing Von Wafer for the majority of the preseason, I have to give him his fair due of respect after playing very well tonight. Wafer showed what he can do when he's at his best by scoring 14 points and capitalizing on all three of his attempts from behind the arc.
- Neither Stephen Lasme (visa issues) or Delonte West (back spasms) traveled with the team to Toronto.
- Nate Robinson once again paced the effort off the bench with 23 points; however, it should also be noted that he struggled holding onto the ball in the closing moments of the game.
- A few highlight's of the night: Marquis Daniels nailed a shot a few steps in from the half-court line at the end of the first quarter. Meanwhile, DeMar Derozen led the Raptors highlight reel by posterizing Glen Davis during the first quarter.
- The Celtics now head to Hartford, Conn. tomorrow to take on the New York Knicks for the second time this preseason.
P.S The game wasn't as close as the score indicates.
