These Phils look like a new team after a 7-1 victory giving them 7 straight wins heading into the finale against the Diamondbacks.
The pitching needs only a two word description: Roy Halladay. Roy got his 12th win of the season with yet another complete game last night. He allowed 1 earned run, 6 hits, and no walks. His ERA is down to 2.21 on the season.
At the plate, Jayson Werth continues his torrid pace going 3 for 4 and raising his average to .294 on the season. Carlos Ruiz also had 3 hits. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention "The Demon's" debut. Brown went 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Quite the start for the youngster. We're seeing why he was the one piece that was always off limits in trade talks.
The Phils go for the sweep as Kyle Kendrick takes on newly acquired Joe Saunders at 7:05 at CBP.
Lastly, the reports out of Houston are that the Phillies have acquired Roy Oswalt for J.A. Happ and prospects. The deal is pending Oswalt waiving his no trade clause.
