Leave it to the Phils to get swept by the crappy Astros and come back and take the next two from the Padres.
Joe Blanton looked sharp today. He pitched 6 innings and lifted is record to 6-6 on the season and his 1 earned run lowered his season ERA to 5.15. Contreras (10th hold), Madson (8th hold), and Lidge (18th save) closed it out for him.
At the dish, Ruiz got the day off for Brian Schnieder but Shane Victorino was the true star going 2 for 4 with a single and a triple. He also drove in 2 runs, giving him 58 for the year.
The Phils go for the sweep tomorrow as Cole Hamels takes on Clayton Richard at 4:05. Hamels looks to get win #8, which he's been searching for since July 11th.
