So you may be wondering why I decided to put a picture of Roy Halladay in a blue jays uniform as the accompanying picture for this article. Well, as luck would have it, Roy will pitch an away game against Toronto...in Philly? Instead of getting the hero's welcome home, Halladay will pitch in Philly in a home game for the Blue Jays due to the G-20 summit. Toronto will have last licks and the DH will be in play. Other news:
Brad Lidge - Is this guy ever going to be healthy again? You may have noticed that during last nights win, Jose Contreras, not Brad Lidge was warming up to pitch the 9th. This is because Brad is experiencing elbow soreness and was unavailable. They are waiting to see if it will calm down with some rest. This would be a big blow. Just as the bullpen was seemingly coming together with Ryan Madson on the DL, this happens, thinning out an already depleted pitching staff further.
Double header tomorrow - The Phils will play the first of two at 3:10 as Roy Halladay will take on Aaron Cook. In the night cap, Jamie Moyer will take on Jason Hammel. With Lidge ailing, they'll look for a deep outing from the doc.
How good has Jose Contreras been? MLB trade rumors seems to think that if he keeps this up he could be granted a 2 year deal, and could even possibly close.
Also, kind of weird Boston Bruins ad courtesy of C. Davidson.
