Today the Boston Celtics are in Waltham for their annual media day. All the players, coaches, and higher-ups of the organization are there to answer questions from the media. The event started at 2:00 and there have been a lot of great quotes from everyone so far, but this one from Kendrick Perkins may just be the best.
Kendrick Perkins on Game 7: "If I would have played we would have won for sure. By double-figures."
I know, there are probably some Lakers fans out there saying, "no excuses, we didn't have Bynum in 2008". That's true, but in 2008 the Celtics spanked your asses (go back and look at the score of Game 6). You could've added MJ to the team on that June evening and still would have got beat.
Anyways, I like what Perk has to say here, but I'm not one for making excuses. Did Perk's injury hurt our chances? Heck yes. Could the Celtics have won Game 7 without Perk? Heck Yes. But, they didn't. The past is the past and the loss still hurts today, but hey, today marks the start of a new season and I'm frickin pumped!
