Patriots Loss Points To Brady

In the New England Patriots loss to the Denver Broncos, Kyle Orton completed 35 passes. Think about that for a second. The words "Kyle Orton" and "35 completions" should never, EVER be put in the same setence. Onlyy they were, and he did it. He beat the Patriots secondary worse than Ike beat Tina. The Patriots DB's played scared all game, and gave cushions the size of Oprah Winfreys behind all day long. I understand the mentality of not wanting to get beat deep by Brandon Marshall, and I know Eddie Royal is fast,  but adjustments need to be made during the game. If its broke, you have to fix it. Bump coverage gives the D-line time to pass rush, instead Orton was drinking martinis in the pocket while playing catch with his receivers.

Obviously there was hometown calls in this game, but thats part of the NFL. I do not understand why Bill Belichick does not grab the defensive headset from Dean Pees in the 4th quarter and start taking the defense as his own. A 98 yard TD drive led by Kyle Orton is absolutely inexcusable. The New England Patriots do not have a bad defense, but the defensive play calling was terrible.

All these excuses having been said and put aside, the real reason the Patriots lost this game is the title of this article. Tom Brady.

Im a Brady guy, who undoubtedly is one of the greatest all-time QB's in the history of the NFL. Im also a guy that will lick no mans boots and call it like i see it. What i saw was Tom Brady getting his ass whipped. Again. The blame cannot be placed on the offensive line, whom i thought played well. The loss cannot be placed on the receivers, whom i though played well. This offensive catastrophe is solely on Brady's shoulders (or lack of shoulders). Time and time again he is missing wide open receivers.Week in and week out he is missing blatant touchdowns. He is forcing the ball to Welker, not even looking at his other reads, because Welker has always bailed him out. Well Tom, Welker's name comes up in defensive meetings a hell of a lot more these days, some teams more than Moss. Speaking of Moss, he should without a doubt be TARGETED at least ten times a game. That means throw to him on a play no matter what. He should be able to get the 7 yard slant 8 out of 10 times.

It just looks like it is more than rust, and its becoming a major problem. A problem i think the Patriots will fix, but Brady needs to be called out.
