Every indication of the week 2 matchup between the Packers and the Buffalo Bills seems like the Packers should have their way with the overmatched Bills team.
However, this is the NFL and I refuse to think the Bills will just roll over for the Pack.
The Packers have one of the best offenses in the NFL and did not show it against the Eagles in Philadelphia. I expect the offense to be clicking on all gears for the revved up crowd at Lambeau.
The Bills lost one of its best playmakers on the defensive side of the football in linebacker Paul Posluzny. Yes, the offensive line gave up three quick sacks against the Eagles relentless pressure but held steady in the second half as they kept Aaron Rodgers upright and sack-free.
Even without the steady offense in the backfield from Ryan Grant, the Packers will be prone to get their offense going through the air with Jennings, Driver, Finley, Jones, Nelson, and even Brandon Jackson coming out of the backfield.
The Packers are fortunate that their backup running back thrust into the starting lineup is a very reliable pass blocker and an equally reliable threat coming out of the backfield. Expect Rodgers to dump it off to Jackson on a couple screens if he's feeling the pressure.
As for the defense, I expect an even stronger performance against the Bills unimposing offense. Beside rookie tailback C.J. Spiller, not many players on the offensive side of the ball should threaten the Packers.
Quarterback Trent Edwards is wild and predominantly ineffective. Not to mention, the Packers should be able to contain Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish if they were able to relatively contain dynamic Eagles wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin.
A player to watch in this game for the Packers is Clay Matthews. Despite missing nearly all of training camp and the preseason with an injury, Matthews picked up the 2010 season right where he left off in 2009: wreaking havoc. Matthews had 7 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble and is responsible for knocking Kevin Kolb out of the game.
As much as I refuse to see the Packers overlooking the Bills in week 2, I cannot imagine this game going any other way.
Packers offense comes out in a big way for the hometown crowd at Lambeau: Packers 34, Bills 10.
