The Packers are building their own hospital.
After losing Ryan Grant for the season in week one, they lost starting safety Morgan Burnett to an ACL injury for the 2010 season as well.
Unfortunately for the Pack, that's just the beginning.
Add to that list linebackers Brandon Chillar and Nick Barnett along with offensive lineman Mark Tauscher.
Chillar and Barnett are both getting second opinions on their injuries and are considered doubtful and subject to miss significant time.
Barnett's injury is definitely considered more serious as he will definitely need surgery, yet whether that will require him to miss the rest of the season has yet to be determined.
Chillar hasn't played since week three in Chicago after hurting his shoulder against the Bears.
With Chillar and Barnett unlikely to play against the Redskins on Sunday, A.J. Hawk along with Desmond Bishop are likely to play the whole game at inside linebacker.
As for Burnett, he will be succeeded by Jarrett Bush, Charlie Peprah, or Derrick Martin.
The most logical replacement was Martin as he played the rest of the game in Detroit. However, the problem for the Packers is that both Martin and Peprah are also on the injury report though do not have as serious injuries.
As for the other safety position, Pro Bowler Nick Collins is: yep, you guessed it. On the injury report.
Collins has a lingering knee problem from week three but has said the knee is improving day-to-day.
And the offensive line.
Both tackles are nursing injuries and sat out practice this week. Left tackle Chad Clifton is still expected to start despite an injured knee.
Mark Tauscher has been diagnosed with a shoulder sprain but also could be ready to go by Sunday in Washington.
In any case, backup tackles rookie Bryan Bulaga and T.J. Lang will be ready to fill in as soon as need in case of further injury.
The Packers will have to count on their healthy players to pull them through and avoid further injury in NFC East leading Washington.
