NL Rivals Put the Cards to Work
There are few acceptable excuses for missing as many blog posts as I have recently…but I’m gonna try one anyway.
It’s been a busy couple weeks for me, moving out of my Orlando, Florida apartment. But I’m officially back in Baseball Heaven for a while and I was able to attend my very first 2012 game at good ole Busch Stadium.
Being back in the middle of it all, I couldn’t be happier to be a Cards fan…especially since I was able to show the sights to my Dodger fan boyfriend, Jeremy Dorn (who you can find on this site’s blogosphere). When I asked him to be honest, he did conclude that it was one of the better fan experiences he has had, and he even admitted that there were high expectations.
Yet another affirmation of the power of Cardinal Nation! I’ll soon be back for more with tickets to Wednesday’s game, so stay tuned for some possible live coverage from yours truly.
Now…to talk baseball. Losing 2 of 3 to the Cubs was disheartening in more ways than one. Not only was it our arch enemies (pun intended) who let’s just say it – are not the best team…But it broke our streak of taking every series thus far. Not to mention the bad umpire calls that plagued game 2.
Luckily, we were able to pick right back up where we left off with the Brewers at home. And although we were able to more than capitalize on scoring opportunities in games 1 and 2, I believe we effectively beat ourselves today in game 3. Not only did Jaime Garcia make a base-running mistake that eventually cost us the tying run, but we left 13 on base.
The good news is, we’ll be facing the Pirates next and there’s a chance we can sweep and make up for the lost game against the Cubs. And Allen Craig will be back with the team on Tuesday! Who isn’t gonna love watching one of the postseason heroes take the field? My only question is, who are we gonna send down? I suppose we’ll find out soon enough!
