As most of you know, I don't consider this a news site.  Admittedly, I am not yet at the point of having all the access I would want to the wrestling business, so I would be hard pressed to claim that I've broken any stories.  What I can and do try and do though, is present the news stories as they come and offer my opinion and analysis on what each story means in the broader spectrum of the wrestling world.  This week in particular is a great time to do that.

Over the past few days, there have been numerous stories of varying importance in the world of wrestling.  Since I haven't had a chance to cover each one individually, I'm going to cover as many as a I can in this article.  Hopefully, this will help shed some light on everthing going on. 

Kharma Breaks Down - Out For 9+ Months?

When I watched Raw on Monday, I saw a lot of shocking things.  Of all of them, certainly Kharma's breakdown could be considered the most shocking.  After weeks of physically dominating the Divas, Kharma simply broke down in the middle of the ring.  It was a weird spectacle to say the least. 

Shortly after Raw, news began to circulate that the reason for the breakdown was that Kharma (real name Kia Stevens) would be off TV for the next 9 months, but initially, no further details were given.  Now, anyone with half a brain could figure out why a woman might be out for 9 months, and hours later, that fact was confirmed.  Kharma is indeed pregnant and that segment was done to write off the Kharma character for the time being. 

While it obviously needed to be done, the way it was done was quite poor in my opinion.  You spent weeks building up a monster and broke her down in less than 5 minutes.  That doesn't bode well for her future.  On top of that, WWE has announced that Kharma is going to speak next week on Raw! 

This is entirely unnecessary.  A monster need not speak.  If anything, get her a manager that can speak for her and say that "she's down but will be back stronger and meaner than ever".  Quite honestly, I would have had her get attacked by all the divas and have a heel diva "injure" her.  The heel diva could brag about it in her absence and the manager could say that she'll going to recover and be awesome again.  You then keep that mystery about her for whenever she does return.  Doing it this way makes no sense to me, but the biggest losers are the fans.  It was clear that the fans were into Kharma, but the pregnancy has stunted her growth as a character. 

I can't really hate on someone for having a child, but this was such an inopportunte time!  Hopefully by the time Kharma returns, the crying and the speech will be long forgotten. 

CM Punk Honors The Macho Man

Obviously the biggest news in the wrestling world is the recent passing of "Macho Man" Randy Savage.  I covered it here on this site just like every other news site and joe schmo blog in the world.  He was that far-reaching and the news of his death hit many. 

The WWE honored the late superstar with a video tribute that was quite solid, but the act that stood out the most was clearly CM Punk's attire for Monday night's main event.  Punk came out with yellow boots and a black t-shirt.  When he removed the shirt, pink trunks were revealed and it immediately became clear what he had done.  He had replicated Savage's attire from Wrestlemania 4!  Total mark out moment for me and I couldn't stop smiling from it.  Totally cool gesture by Punk, who also performed Macho Man's elbow at Over The Limit.  This guy clearly gets it and I sincerely hope that these contract negotations between Punk and the WWE get settled, because I'd hate to not see one of the premier wrestling talents on Mondays anymore (unless he were to go back to Smackdown, of course!)

Layla Tears Her ACL and MCL

After the biggest win of her life, Layla finds herself on the operating table.  I'd say this is a shame, but I honestly don't know what she'd be doing next.  She's incredibly beautiful and men everywhere will miss seeing her every week, but is her loss that great as a wrestling talent? 

I'm going to be an optimist and say that this injury will actually help her career.   She'll have time to recover and give  the fans time to miss her.  When she returns, she'll hopefully get a pop and the crowd will be behind her new face character.  By then, she can shed all of that LayCool stigma she still has and become something new and exciting.

If not, she'll still be gorgeous, so we all still win. 

Chyna Does Porn.........Again?

A few years back, Chyna made headlines after a video surfaced of her and Sean Waltman (X-Pac) having sex.  The video was distributed by Vivid entertainment and sold a ton of copies.  As Joe Swanson of Family Guy once said "it's gross, but it's famous gross!"

Years later, Chyna resurfaced as Kurt Angle's "mistress" in TNA.  Her job was to take care of Karen Jarrett at Sacrifice, and she did just that.  It seems that TNA doesn't have any more plans for her, but if they did, would they scrap them due to this rumor?

Apparently, Chyna approached Vivid president Steve Hirsch about getting back into porn and has filmed a video with two men.  Chyna's people have shot down this rumor as false but it still seems to be making headway. 

Whether it's true remains to be seen.  The only truth about this situation that I can tell you is that if a video comes out, I will not watch it.  I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment!

Kurt Angle to Get a Reality Show?

Yep, that's what he claimed on twitter.  The former olympic champion claims that he is going to get a reality show that follows him as he trains for the next Olympics.  I'm sure it'll be good too, as I hear that new senior citizen's division in wrestling is going to be hotly contested! 

Seriously, I've seen Kurt Angle in person.  The dude can barely walk.  I know he likes doing this stuff, but enough is enough.  I wish him good luck, but this might be more embarassing than successful. 

Also, good luck in passing the drug tests......

Wrestlemania Does 1 Million Buys

It feels good when you hit your goal.  This was a lofty goal in this day and age, but it was cool to see it achieved.  If only the show actually lived up to expectations.....

Tiffany And Drew McIntyre To Get Divorced

If you read the HOT or NOT, I alluded to this by saying that Drew was having a bad week.  On top of losing to Kofi, he loses Tiffany.  It sucks to be Drew right now, but then again, if she was going to be belting him every time she got mad, maybe it's for the best.  After all, no amount of beauty can overcome physical violance in the home.  You know, unless you are into that sort of thing.
