The Super Bowl champs continue the off season as the enter into the draft. The New Orleans Saints draft started once their quarterback the Super Bowl MVP himself Drew Brees announced the first pick. Figures, that he is now blessed with the being cursed on the front cover of the 2011 Madden video game.
The popular pick in the first round for most mock drafts was selecting an outside line backer. Whether it was going to be Sean Weatherspoon went to the Atlanta Falcons at 19 or Jerry Hughes that went to the Indianapolis Colts at 31 The Saints went in a different direction in the first round.
Head coach Sean Payton and staff a player that will help them in their secondary right away selected corner back Patrick Robinson out of Florida State as their first round draft choice. The staff directed their attention at upgrading the offensive line begining with the signing of Charles Brown from Southern California.

Analysis: With the few picks that the Saints had, they still choose wisely on what was available. I very surprised they did not add an outside linebacker in the draft with linebacker Scott Fujita signing with the Browns.
