Jeff Salzenstein out of Denver, Colorado (the only Coloradoran I believe to make an impact on the tour and get a full ride to Stanford) was one of my favorite players to watch play. He played hard, smashmouth, energized and passionate tennis, often with a strut to his stride and a dashing smile on his face. He was a lefty with a huge serve and big topspin forehand built out of the physical brand of tennis of past American lefties like Roscoe Tanner and Tim Wilkison, Dr. Dirt. Salzy's play had some dirt to it as did his 17-year career on the tour (1992-2008) where he only won 16 overall matches, 1 slam and 2 Masters matches.
