Former offensive defenseman Mathieu Schneider joins the National Hockey League Players' Association as special assistant. He will work with executive director Don Fehr. 

"I am pleased to have Mathieu join the NHLPA's staff," Fehr said in a release. "His vast experience as an NHL player and as an active member in his association will make Mathieu a great addition to the staff and an exceptional asset for the players."

Mathieu Schneider has tailed 520 assists and 223 goals in a career spanning in 1,289.
