During the Offseason, the Boston Celtics have strengthened team in many areas. They are loaded at the center position with the addidtions of Shaq & Jermaine O'Neal, plus they will get Kendrick Perkins back in January, or February. The power forward position is solid with Jermaine O'Neal & Glen "Big Baby" Davis backing up Kevin "The Big Ticket" Garnett. The backcourt is top notch with the resigning of Ray Allen and the C's sparkplug Nate Robinson, not to mention the return of Delonte West to Beantown.
We must not forget that Paul Pierce has resigned for 4 more years to lead the Celtics as their starting small forward. The one positon that has been a concern so far to Celtic fans has been the backup small forward position. I believe that those concerns will be forgotten by Marquis Daniels. Marquis is a very athletic player, who has a solid inside scoring game. He is also a very aggressive defender. He makes it hard for opposing players to deal with him on both ends of the floor.
Before injuring his thumb, Marquis Daniels was in important part of the Celtics puzzle for the 2009-2010 season. He played well off the bench by providing solid scoring punch and executing the Celtics Defensive Gameplan well as the back up small forward.
The Celtics are not the only team that has enjoyed Marquis Daniels. During the 2008-09 Regular Season, He averaged 13.6 Points Per Game and 4.6 Rebounds Per Game for the Indiana Pacers. Marquis also averaged 15.8 Points Per Game, 6.2 Rebounds Per Game, 3.0 Assists Per Game, and 2.0 Steals Per Game for the Dallas Mavericks in the 2003-04 NBA Playoffs.
Injuries have been a concern for Marquis Daniels during his career, however, if he can stay healthy, he will be a solid back up for Paul Pierce & an important weapon off the bench for the 2010-11 Boston Celtics.
