PITCHER

Boy, Ill tell ya what, John Maine is coming along pretty well. After a horrible start to his season, John Maine has put together two quality starts in a row for the Mets. Unfortunately for Maine, his good outing could not result in a win but he definitely deserved it. Maine went 6 innings with 6 punch outs over 102 pitches. What I liked about Maine was his location of his pitches and as Mr North Jersey pointed out in the dugout, Maine was hitting 90 mph quite consistently over his start. We can only hope that Maine was just not prepared to go coming out of spring training and has now amassed enough work to be consistent going forward.
HITTER

THE CHAMP IS HERE! Rod “swing hard” Barajas hit a home run off Francisco Cordero in the 9th inning to salvage a game that seemed to be heading in the same direction as last nights affair. The inning just before Rods super clutch homer, Fernando “everyday” Nieve gave up two runs to tie the game, which set the Reds up for another walk off win. That was until Barajas hit his Mets home run leading shot to give them the lead that K-Rod sealed for the win. Rod hit his 7th home run of the season and get this, Barajas has homered 5 times in the last 9 games. Needless to say, Rod’s performance have Met fans saying “Brian who…..”.
