LenDale White on being a backup:
"I did good with it for a year, I didn’t complain. I backed up greatness, a guy who ran for 2,000 yards. But now that that’s over I feel like it is time for me to start somewhere. And that is what I want to do. I want to be a starter in the NFL, not a backup... I would definitely be interested in a trade. I don’t know where, or how (the Titans) might view that, but that is what I am hoping for. I can’t see me sitting in Tennessee as a backup any more. And that goes as no disrespect to the Titans or C.J., but I feel like it is time for me to get out of there. … Sometimes it is just best to part ways."
Um... LenDale? You do realize that the guy in front of you has went to ProBowl twice, broke the total yardage record, and ran for 2000 yards in a season - the Titans aren't going to play YOU or THAT.
Although, I'm not one of those LenDale haters, I think LenDale has skill. If you look back in history, he's actually done quite good (with the exception of last year):
2007: White runs for over 1100 yards, Titans go 10-6, make playoffs
2008: Chris Johnson joins the party, LenDale runs for 15 TD, Titans go 13-3
2009: Chris Johnson takes full-time job, LenDale gets 4 carries a game, Titans start 0-6, end 8-8
So, it's clear the Titans - and LenDale - were best in the "Smash and Dash" days, when White was getting a legit amount of carries. I'm not saying he should start, but Jeff Fisher needs to realize LenDale can play.
...Although... if he saying start me or trade, then I'll guess we got to trade him.
