Any number of 2010 recruits could grow into a big-time playmaker for Nebraska. But one that jumps out is linebacker Lavonte David. In many respects, he reminds you of former Huskers and All-Big 12 linebacker Demorrio Williams. Both were ranked as top 10 junior college prospects, both are on the light side (David is listed at 215 lbs. just like Williams was in his final year at Nebraska), and both have the good fortune to play on a Pelini defense.

You'll recall that Williams, despite his size, was lined up at defensive end at times to be a speed rusher off the edge. In 2003, he totaled 21 tackles for losses (with 11 sacks) and another 13 quarterback hurries. He led the teams in solo tackles. He also forced two fumbles and blocked a kick.
