Anthony Gonzalez Ready to Play
According to the Indianapolis Star, Anthony Gonzalez will be ready to play against the Houston Texans on Monday Night.
"I feel good," the Indianapolis Colts receiver said Monday afternoon. "I feel really good."
Many are optimistic of Gonzalez for this week, mostly Anthony himself. He really wants to play, and there is nothing that will stop him.
"I would be surprised if I didn't play," he said.
Gonzalez has been out for the past five games of the season. Many have been curious of Gonzalez's health, as he has been missing practices due to a lot things going with his ankle.
"It's a little frustrating when you get a bunch of calls and text messages," he said. "It was like, 'Hey, I thought you were feeling good? What's going on?' "
Joseph Addai's status is yet unknown for Monday's game. Austin Collie will in fact be out indefinitely due to surgery on his thumb.
I look forward to Gonzalez playing.
Four Players Ruled Out for Game
Four players will be ruled out for the game where the Colts face the Texans at home on Monday Night.
Indianapolis announced that linebacker Kavell Conner will be out with a foot injury, strong safety Bob Sanders with a biceps injury, wide receiver Austin Collie with a thumb injury, and defensive tackle Antonio Johnson with a foot injury.
Collie will only be out for the next few games. Johnson recently just went under surgery.
Dungy Announced to Ring of Honor
The Indianapolis Colts have recently honored former head coach Tony Dungy in the team's Ring of Honor. Dungy led the Colts to their first Super Bowl win since the 1970's when Dungy's Colts beat the Chicago Bears, 29-17, in the 2007 Super Bowl. Dungy led the Colts to at least twelve wins almost every single season. He was also the first black coach to win a Super Bowl.
"I'm thrilled," said Dungy, who retired after the 2008 season and now works as an NFL analyst on NBC's Sunday night studio show. "When you're a kid coming into the NFL, you dream of a lot of things. I can say I dreamt about making the team and playing and winning a Super Bowl, and I dreamt about coaching in a Super Bowl.
"But I never dreamt about having my name in a stadium. It's just not something you even consider."
Donald Brown to Play
Donald Brown has been out for the past few games of the Indianapolis Colts. He was out with a really bad hamstring injury. He will be needed on Monday Night if Joseph Addai is unavailable.
"I feel good today," Brown said of his right hamstring. "If the game was today, I'd play.
"(Hamstrings) are a frustrating, nagging injury. You just have to give it time, and that's something we don't have right now."
Mike Hart and Javarris James look to also have some playing time. Brown is ready to prove himself as he has been out for the pats four-and-a-half weeks.
"I've stayed on it mentally and been in every meeting and been out there taking mental reps in practice, so I'm not too far behind," said Brown, who has missed eight of 22 games over his two seasons with injuries. "I just want to play. I don't like being on the sidelines."
Hart has been doing great so far, having 22 carries for 93 yards and one touchdown so far this season. Can Brown produce, too? We'll see.
