Vanderbilt lost 7-5 to LSU and was basically dominated by Austin Ross all night long. Still the Commodores made it interesting and sent Mike Ystremski to the plate representing the tying run with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd in the ninth before striking out. Yaz had hit a home run in the 2nd to tie the game at 3.It was a bizarre finish to a game where LSU controlled throughout. The home plate umpire blew a balk call he made and then rescinded, which was almost very costly as Corbin waived Loftus home on a double down the left field line. Loftus' wide turn almost cost him, as he was just able to beat the high relay throw. Why Corbin sent the runner down 3 in the 9th with 2 outs is truly beyond me. Now, the Commodores are relegated to the loser's bracket, where they will face a Florida...
