Early in the moring, risin to my feet light me up that cigarette and so on and so forth. You know the drill. This morning however the drill shifts to a mind full of uneasiness as the Knicks clearly gave the Orlando Magic a win last night. Plain and simple.
The Knicks went into Miami and beat the Heat on Sunday and really showed how they can grind out a tough win. Against Orlando, the Knicks were down early in the first and second by as much as 14 at one point and clawed back. The Knicks had the score 92-92 mid way through the fourth and the Magic were without Hedo Turkoglu due to his two technical fouls he got for shooting jibber jabber at the refs. I say jibber jabber because, well listening to Turkoglu talk is like trying to figure out the quickest way to master a rubics cube. Not easy. Aside from that, Dwight Howard was a beast in the post. But, Dwight Howard is not going to score 100 points in a game.
For most of the game, the Magic players were held at bay and forced to beat the Knicks through three quarters. That bid well for the Knicks because offensivley, the Magic were struggling. New York had them right where they wanted them. Until, a little measly guard from St. Joe's took over in the fourth quarter. Jameer Nelson went ballistic. He recorded his first 20 point game in over a month and it seemed the Knicks defense was so stunned, they just stopped guarding the point guard. Oops.
The result? Game, set , match and the Knicks come home to face the New Orleans Hornets tonight at 730. The Knicks will then face the Cavs who recently beat the Knicks last Friday. A turn of events for sure as the Knicks recorded a 1-2 record on their recent three game road trip and are 2-2 since acquiring Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. Still ironing out some issues? I'd say so. How much time do the Knicks have? Not much. The time is now and it starts again tonight against the Hornets.
Peace Up, Threes Down!
