"Oh me, oh my I must reply!" Are you kidding me once again? I will say it again and again until I'm blue in the face, but the city of Cleveland has the Knicks number this season. They may have lost the so called, "King," and all that jibberish and hooplah, but they sure know how to tame the Knicks and beat them three times this season. Three times. The lowly and confused Cavs who set a record for longest losing streak in the NBA earlier this year has beaten the Knicks three times. Un-real.
First things first for the Knicks moving forward. The defensive effort from the Hornets game to this disaster was like night and day. Toney Douglas did a great job on Chris Paul, taking him out of his comfort zone and not allowing him to get going. Chris Paul! Now, we face Ramon Sessions and a barely healthy Baron Davis and we can't stop either? Hmmm.. amusing on all levels.
Rebounding sucks out loud! Jeffries, Melo, Stoudemire, Williams all let rebounds get away and allow the Cavs to get second chance opportunities. The Cavs were also hot shooting the the rock from 15 feet to the three. Can anyone get a hand up? Also, as far as defense is concerend, I don't know who or what said Shawne Williams does a great job defensively, because he doesn't. He'e a hack! Foul after foul. Blow by after blow by he's often seen on the court looking dazed and confused on the defensive end. Period.
This game could be a fluke or it could be an indicator. A fluke in the sense the Cavs have beaten the Knicks three times this year and last night most notably in the Garden. Or, it could be an indicator that the Knicks still are not near where they need to be defensively and that kills their ability to close out games. I mean, just look at Miami and Orlando on Thursday. If you can't close games, don't expect to beat the big boys.
