Knicks Rookie Foward Josh Harrellson Stops Drunk Driver
Yesterday I showed you what Iman Shumpert was doing during the off-season, but what Josh Harrellson is doing in his off season is much more interesting.
He's stopping drunk drivers apparently. Here's the story.
Harrellson and some friends were leaving The Tin Roof Bat in Lexington, Kentucky when they watched a drunk man get into his 4X4 truck. Harrellson and his buddies were standing near the man's truck as he attempted to pull away, swerving and weaving across the parking lot.
Suddenly, the drunk driver smashed right into Harrellson's truck, and then hit another card afterward.
So the 6'10" 275 pound Josh Harrellson and his friends jumped onto the drunk driver's truck and took the keys out so that the driver didn't do anymore damage. When taking the keys out of the car, Harrellson realized that there were kids in the back.
He said it was a frightening experience, but he's happy that the driver didn't get further.
"We were just worried because he could have put it in drive at any time and maybe ran somebody over, or while our arms were in the car, just kept going and we could have been drug or something. I'm the type of guy that, I want to make sure everybody else is alright. I saw it, I moved out of the way, I'm fine. My truck got hit, that's replaceable. I was just thankful nobody got hurt and the kids were fine," said Harrellson.
Luckily Harrellson didn't get injured, though his car did.
Harrellson could have saved many people from getting injured, and possibly may have saved a persons life.
Harrellson is very down to Earth and has lots of heart. Hopefully the lockout ends so we can see "Jorts" play this season.
Harrellson has earned my respect already, and he hasn't stepped foot on an NBA court yet.
