Prior to his UFC Fight Night 13 (fight of the night) win over Joe Lauzon on April 2nd 2008, Kenny "Ken-Flo" Florian was in the gym discussing who he'd like to fight. The first name out of his mouth......"The Fireball Kid"
Kenny was TUF season 1 finalist as a middleweight, he lost in the opening round to Diego "The Nightmare" Sanchez as a result of strikes.
Always a crowd pleaser and fan favorite Dana White even had Florian (a Boston College Graduate) join him on Dr. Phil as a face of the UFC.
Despite numerous marquee wins and loses, Kenny has the discipline to always get back on track and climb back up the ladder. He has had two title shots (both loses) for the UFC in the Lightweight divison, Sean Sherk and most recently BJ Penn.
Coming off his lose to Penn, Florian defeated Clay Guida and will now get his wish; March 31, 2010 in North Carolina. Kenny takes on Takanori Gomi. The winner most certainly will hope to use this fight as a springboard back into title contention.
