Sports Illustrated filed a piece regarding the growing number of Latinos in high-level basketball (Div 1 college and the pros), and I felt it was an article worth mentioning, given State's own Javier Gonzalez of Puerto Rico is starting at the point this season. Maryland's Greivis Vasquez of Venezuela is mentioned in the piece, as well. Basketball has certainly become a global game, which means college coaches like Sidney Lowe have a potentially MUCH larger recruiting pool than they did 30, 20 or even just 10 years ago.
