Jason Hatcher's great season is rewarded with a Pro Bowl spot
Despite how bad the defense was this season for the Dallas Cowboys, some positive news came last Thursday. Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher made the pro bowl for the first time, replacing Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.
Jason Hatcher's 2013 season was a great one for the Dallas Cowboys. Hatcher finished the 2013 season with a career-high 11 sacks and led the team with eight tackles for loss. He also compiled a career-high eight stuffs, tackles for zero yards or a loss in, 2013
Jason Hatcher was also a bright spot for the Cowboys defense as well as the team in 2013. With injuries and inconsistent play on the defensive side of the ball for the Cowboys, Hatcher was the most consistent defensive player all season.
Keeping Jason Hatcher needs to be and should be a priority for the Dallas Cowboys.
With DeMarcus Ware dealing with nagging injuries the past two seasons, Hatcher is needed to help solidify the defense under Monte Kiffin in year 2.
The Cover 2 defense is a work in progress right now for the Dallas Cowboys. The secondary, especially the safety position, needs to be addressed. Also a key component to the Cover 2 is a strong nose tackle and that's what Jason Hatcher is.
Hatcher enters his free-agency season as one of the more sought after defensive players on the market. Hatcher is expecting to get a big-money deal, and with the Cowboys under a tight salary-cap crunch, it's uncertain if he'll return.
