James Stewart scores second straight Supercross victory in Arlington; Adam Cianciarulo scores first Supercross Lites win
For the second straight week in a row, James Stewart claimed the Supercross victory as he'd dominate in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium on Saturday night. It marks Stewart's 47th career win.
"We’ve been riding really good all year," Stewart said. "We went back and made a couple changes after the heat race and that’s all it took. That Suzuki is going great; cutting underneath me. It was great racing Dungey there."
Stewart would make the pass on Ryan Dongey on lap three to take the lead and from there he didn't look back. The win puts him only 13 points behind points leader Ryan Villopoto.
Dungey would hold on to finish second ahead of Justin Barcia, Villopoto and Ken Roczen. Villopoto now leads rookie Roczen by 12 points.
Following his wreck last week, Chad Reed tried to run with a broken shoulder bone, scapula and T1, though was unable to as his shoulder popped out during time trials.
For the Supercross Lites East, it marked their first event of the season. Adam Cianciarulo would score the victory in his first ever Lites event.
"It means a lot," Cianciarulo commented. "My team has stuck behind me. My family has sacrificed so much up through the ranks.”
Cianciarulo's Pro Circuit teammates Baggett and Martin Davalos finished second and third to make it an all Pro Circuit podium. Davalos had the early lead when he went down, allowin both teammates to slip by.
