In 1980, wide receiver Keith Chappelle set Iowa's single-season receiving yards record with 1,037 yards on the year.

Chappelle's record has stood strong for the past 30 years, with only a handful of Hawkeyes coming close since.

Receiver Quinn Early gave it his best shot in 1987, when he recorded 1,004 receiving yards. In 2000, Kevin Kasper topped Early's best effort with 1,010 receiving yards, becoming only the third player in school history to pass the 1,000 yard mark.
