Northwestern (19-12,7-11) once again proved that tempting the hoops gods to even be a marginally above average team might be too much to ask as Indiana saved a program futility record 12th straight loss by downing the 'Cats 88-80 in OT today. The win was just the 10th overall for the Hoosiers who - and I can say this with a straight face - have far less talent than NU. The 'Cats were hoping to secure the program's first 20-win season and (gasp!) back-to-back wins in Assembly Hall after not winning there in my lifetime. Wah-wa-wahhhhh.Any hopes of a strong Big Ten Tourney showing have gone down the drain in my mind as we simply don't play well on the road, especially on D. The 'Cats dropped to 1-7 in conference play o the road this season and we'll get in to the atrocious Big Ten Tourney...
