Evansville, Ind. – On March 15, the Hofstra Men’s Basketball team lost 77-70 to Evansville in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI), hosted by Zebra Pen and held at the University of Southern Indiana’s Physical Activities Center.


Evansville is now 16-15 overall and move on to the second round of the CBI. The will play the winner of the Boise State versus Austin Peay game.


Hofstra ends the season with a 21-12 record as the 5th season to win at least 20 games in seven years.


Charles Jenkins, from Queens, NY, came to the CBI with 2,499 career points. After scoring 14 points he became the 63rd player in NCAA history to score 2,500, ending his career at 2,513 points. Only 63 players in the NCAA history have reached 2,500 points. His 2,500th point was scored at the 13:51 mark in the first half with a lay up.


Mike Moore of New Haven, CT also went 14 points over his 1000 points career in his two semesters at Hofstra during the CBI game during the second half.
