Hello Hawkeye Nation! We here at MMOM.com (or MeetMeOnMelrose.com for those that don't understand acronyms) would like to extend our hand to the Hawkeye faithful and introduce ourselves to the world. For those of you who think Kirk Ferentz is the college football version of Don Shula, for those of you that believe Gary Dolphin just might one day shit his pants in the booth, for those of you that don Black and Old Gold every Saturday for the whole year and for those of you that have ANF stickers on their cars, TV's, laptop computers, bicycles, and refridgerators, this site is for you, ALL of you. For those of you who support another team (hey, maybe you were born into it, maybe you have real sentimental reasons, maybe you're just an idiot), we only hope that you can enjoy some of the benefits of being a Hawkeye by stopping in from time to time.
So who the hell are we? Well, the two of us live in Iowa City (one a UI graduate, the other only a junior) and we have a sickening passion that has led us here. We have Black and Gold embedded in our hearts and flowing through our veins. We get the chills everytime we hear the beginning of "Enter Sandman" and "Back in Black." We listen to "In Heaven There is no Beer" after every intramural victory and men's league championship. We have had Hawkeye pride spewing from our hearts for a lifetime, spewing from our mouths for the better part of a decade, spewing from our keyboards for the better part of a year and we wouldn't want it any other way.
So that's it for now folks. We say hello to all of you, our new friends, to the Hawkeye faithful, and even to those ugly clowns a few hours west. We hope you come back to read our daily rants, our news and rumors, and other nonsensical B.S. that will be put on this site. We hope that you find us somewhat entertaining and that we somehow grab your attention. We hope we become an outlet for you to share your feelings, comments, or concerns. We hope that we can provide a voice that is similar to yours. We want you to come back, we want you to tell us that you love us, like us, envy us, or hell, tell us if you hate us. But mainly, we hope we can all Meet On Melrose together in unity, and together kick the shit out of any team that threatens our humble home. We're here everyone, and we're here to f*ck shit up.
