Halladay was sparkling again as Phils win despite an ugly effort.
I don't really care how this team is winning. Not with Utley slated back on Tuesday and The Big Piece not far behind. Halladay was his usual sensational self. 4 hits, no walks, 7 strikeouts over 8 innings for his 15th win of the year. His ERA drops to a ridiculous 2.24 on the season. Madson made it interesting all the while striking out the side.
The dish is where things looked nasty. 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position was the bad part, Shane Victorino going 2 for 4 was the good. They scored on errors but, hey, they had good pitching and good defense. The Mets played sloppy and deserved the loss.
The rubber match is tonight as Mike Pelfrey takes on Kyle Kendrick at 8 pm on ESPN's Sunday night baseball.
