Earlier this month, Grand Bend Speedway released their 2014 Tentative Schedule.
One of the most unique tracks in Ontario, GBS hosts six different events on their ¼ mile track. With only 12 degrees in the corners, it makes a good track for lots of solid action. GBS is home to a pair of 6.5 horsepower Micro Sprint classes – a Jr. A which features 12-16 year olds and a Jr. B which features 7-11 year olds, a 9hp Micro Sprint class, a 9hp Jr. Late Model class, a 13hp Mini Truck class and a Legends class. They also host special events over the course of the season.
The season starts off on May 10th with all six divisions running and goes all the way till September 6th with the “Fall Classic”, which includes extended features on championship night for all classes. Most nights feature all six classes running, however there are some special nights along the way.
The Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets will make a visit to GBS on July 5th an August 23rd while the Shipway Memorial $500 to win will be held on July 19th for the Hurricane Midgets.
The Four Funs and Four Cylinders are added to the May 17th, May 24th, June 7th, July 12th and August 16th show. The Four Cylinders also have an additional date on June 1st.
The Mini Trucks will run an extended distance – 50 lap – feature on May 17th, June 28th, August 2nd and August 16th.
The Jr. A Micro Sprints will run an extended distance – 35 lap – feature on June 28th while the Jr. B Micro Sprints will run an extended distance – 35 lap – feature on August 16th.
The Jr. Late Models will run an extended distance – 40 lap – feature on August 2nd.
With a line-up of this nature put in place for this coming season, looking for GBS to thrill fans all year.
