South Carolina found themselves battling an inspired Florida Gator football team this past Saturday.
The Gators used a dominate running game in the first half to help control a 14-6 halftime lead against the Gamecocks. However, second half adjustments from the Carolina defense and a better offensive output in the second half pushed South Carolina to a 19-14 victory over the struggling Gators.
There are a few Gamecocks from this weekend's game that deserve recognition and here are this week's Gamecock Props of the Game.
- -- K Elliott Fry - Elliott Fry has continued to showcase an accurate leg for the Gamecocks and has seemingly gotten better and better as the season goes along. Fry was a driving force for the Gamecocks this past Saturday as he connected on four-of-five field goals and one extra point against the Gators to provide 13 of the Gamecocks 19 points. If Fry didn't turn into this solid, spectacular kicker for USC, who knows where they'd be right now without him?
- -- RB Shon Carson - Who expected Shon Carson to run for over 100 yards in a game this season? And even against a stout defense like Florida? Carson has become a viable player in this offense the past few weeks and performed at his best when the Gamecocks needed him the most. Carson's 58-yard scamper in the fourth quarter helped South Carolina push towards a field goal and keep the lead for good.
- -- DE Jadeveon Clowney - He's banged up and hurting every week. But he's stepped up his game and is showing just why he's one of the best players in college football. Clowney was second on the team in tackles with five and had two impressive tackles for loss. He's really blossomed into a leader on this defense and his energy level has stepped up a notch here in the second half of the season.
- -- TE Rory "Busta" Anderson - Busta Anderson was big for South Carolina on Saturday. He had three catches for 69 yards, including a long of 34 yards on the night. His catch teamed up with Carson's run in the fourth quarter that helped pushed South Carolina to the lead with a short field goal. The tight ends are getting more involved in this offense and can put up some big numbers here to close the season.
