Warren Moon should be considered as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Not #1, but at least in the top 10-20 range. Stat wise, he was one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL.
Moon started off in the CFL. He led the Edmonton Eskimos to 5 Grey Cups. Remember, Moon was only in the CFL for 5 years. Warren Moon was bound to go to the NFL. The question was who was going to get Warren Moon?
There was a huge bidding war for Moon's service. The Houston Oilers won the bidding war. Moon and head coach Jerry Glanville were a perfect fit together. Glanville showed off Moon's big arm through out his time with Houston. Moon lead the Oilers to multiple playoff berths, but couldn't get to the Super Bowl.
Then, Warren Moon was traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Moon lead the Vikings with once again 4,000 yards passing again. In his second year with the Vikings, Moon broke his collarbone and missed 10 games. That paved the way for Brad Johnson to come in and play great for the Vikings. The Vikings cut Moon after that.
Moon then signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Warren Moon while in Seattle became the first NFL player over 40 years old to score a touchdown. After two years in Seattle he left for his last team he will play with, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Moon rarely played for Kansas City in two years. He only played in three games. After that, Warren Moon retired for good and left the NFL as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play.
Brett Favre has become the next Warren Moon. He has broken all of Moon's records and is playing over 40.
Moon was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2006. He was a nine time pro bowler and threw over 35 miles! That equals out to mor then 49,000 yards.
Warren Moon in my opinion is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. He is one of the most underrated quarterbacks to play in the NFL.Warren Moon was truly a great quarterback.
