Four Bobcat athletes were awarded weekly awards from their respective leagues today. Christian Haggerty, Devon Gibney, Kaitlyn Kelly, and Heather Schwartzburg all received Player of the Week awards.
Haggerty won the ECAC Lacrosse Player of the Week after scoring two goals and adding four assists in the Bobcats lone game this past week, a 12-2 win against Providence College. This is Haggerty’s first award in his first season with the Bobcats after transferring from Onondaga Community College.
Gibney was awarded the NEC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after scoring eight goals and adding three assists in two games against Fairfield University and Bryant University. Kelly was named the NEC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Schwartzburg won the NEC Softball Pitcher of the Week award. Schwartzburg pitched in six games this past week, including three complete games. Schwartzburg struck out 49 batters in just 27.2 innings while posting a 0.76 ERA. The right-hander also set a new career high with 16 strikeouts against the University of Toledo.
