The Flyers have a chance to win their first Atlantic Division title since 2004 tonight against the New York Islanders. All the Flyers have to do is win and they will clinch the division. The only problem is, the Flyers haven't done much winning of late. The Flyers are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games and are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Sabres just last night. The Flyers took a 3-2 lead after back to back goals by Danny Briere and Kris Versteeg, but Buffalo came right back with goals by Nathan Gerbe to tie the game and then the OT winner by Thomas Vanek. Tonight they face an Islanders team that is coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Isles haven't won a game yet this year against the Flyers which could cause trouble for the Flyers tonight. The Islanders will be fired up for this game no doubt, we just have to hope the Flyers will be able to match the intensity of the Isles. Sergei Bobrovsky will be in net tonight according to multiple sources. Bobs has started every game against the Isles and has played well obviously. This is a questionable decision, or at least I think so. Mostly because, what was the purpose of Michael Leighton's call up? If he wasn't going to start a game during the regular season, why bring him up? Who knows what General Manager Paul Holmgren could be hiding from us now, is backup Brian Boucher hurt? Only time will tell as the Flyers prepare for the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now onto the scenarios for tonight, if the Flyers win they clinch the Atlantic no matter what happens between the Thrashers and Pens on Sunday. Now it looks like we will face Buffalo in the first round should we win tonight. But other scenarios are there, we could end up facing Montreal if the Sabres beat the Sabres and the Leafs defeat the Habs. Now if we don't win tonight and the Pens win on Sunday, we would fall to 4th in the East and face former Flyer Simon Gagne and the Tampa Bay Lightning. So basically, THE FLYERS MUST WIN TONIGHT. The Flyers struggled against the Bolts this year so hopefully we can get this win tonight. LET'S GO FLYERS!
