One would have thought that Mayweather had enough sense to stop himself from doing anything stupid after his racist rant against Pacquiao.
But that might have been too much to ask for someone, whose ego has gone unchecked for a long time. It doesn't help either when the people around you constantly make excuses for your mistakes instead of confronting you.
As a result, he now finds himself in potentially worse situation as cops arrived at one of his house in Las Vegas this morning after they received a call from Josie Harris, the mother of Floyd's baby, who claimed that Mayweather Jr. attacked her.
If her name sounds familiar, it was because this is not the first time that she has reported Mayweather Jr. of abuse, but the latter was able to escape any punishment when Harris later retracted her story.
But this time, he might not find himself so lucky as Harris is set to obtain a restraining order order against him. In addition, according to a report by TMZ, a neighbor of Harris reported that he was awakened by a sound he described as "a blood-curdling scream that sounded like someone was being murdered."
Currently, there are no words from Mayweather Jr. as he was nowhere to be found at the scene. but the authorities are searching for him in order to get his side of the story.
If this story holds true, then Mayweather's reputation will definitely take a big hit. He might have gotten a pass for the most part for his tirade against Pacquiao, but I doubt he will for this one.
In fact, he might be force to change his tune and beg for a fight with Pacquiao. Even though he is the biggest superstar in boxing next to Pacquiao, companies are not exactly lining up for his services. Now he will find it more difficult to earn extra money outside of boxing as many companies will take him out of consideration as far as endorsing their products.
Some people might not find that a big deal, but Mayweather's lifestyle requires him to make a certain amount of money and the only way to get that might be a fight with Pacquiao. It's certainly the most awaited fight since Hagler vs. Leonard and will definitely provide both fighters their highest payday
However, if the fight was there for the taking before, it might not be now. Pacquiao's resume is second to none in the sports of boxing and doesn't need Mayweather to secure his legacy. His team has already attempted to make a fight with Mayweather twice and might not be too keen in playing games with Mayweather again.
In addition, Pacquiao doesn't need the money as much as Mayweather because he is one of the top endorsers in his country and has endorsement contracts with some of the biggest companies such as Nike and McDonalds. Furthermore, similar to Margarito, he might not deserve a fight with Pacquiao anymore.
