The Denver Broncos have decided to give Tim Tebow his second NFL start next Sunday against the Houston Texans regardless of starter Kyle Orton's health.
Interim head coach Eric Studesville and management were very impressed with Tebow's first career start in the Broncos' 39-23 loss to the Oakland Raiders Dec. 19.
Tebow completed eight passes in 16 attempts for 138 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 78 yards and a 40-yard touchdown run last Sunday.
Here's what Oakland defensive tackle Tommy Kelly had to say about Tebow:
"He earned a lot of respect from me [Sunday]. He's a lot better athlete than you think he is. You heard so much about him and then you play him.
"He made a couple moves out there today that surprised me. I think he's got a bright future."
FRS Energy...is it in you?
If a former Gator great were to sign an endorsement deal with any sports drink company, most would assume that it would be Gatorade.
Well, that's not the case.
Tebow has signed a deal with FRS Energy, joining Lance Armstrong, Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher, and Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen as a fellow endorser of the product.
Here is Tebow's statement regarding his new endorsement deal:
"I use their products regularly and can honestly say I believe FRS has helped me perform at my best on and off the field. I look forward to sharing my FRS story with fans and spreading the word on this amazing brand."
Fortunately, this "Gator Raid" is still in the running for an endorsement from Mr. Tebow. We'll keep you posted.
