Last night, three days after the Celtics put a whooping on the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Kevin Garnett finally put the drama between himself and Charlie Villaneuva (not sure I spelt that right and honestly don't give a damn to check) to rest.
His response: "He's a nobody; I'm not paying attention to nobody's no more."
This whole drama surrounding what Kevin Garnett said on the court that night is something that has been bothering me for a while now. At this point it is all heresay but through all of this one thing remains true: NOTHING should have left the court that night and NOTHING should have been said on Twitter that night.
If Kevin Garnett did in fact say that Charlie Villaneuva looks like a cancer patient that is not acceptable in any way. As many of the haters have said already and I will repeat again, cancer is a nasty disease and is not something that should be thrown out there even in the heat of war.
Now with that being said, I still don't think Kevin Garnett would stoop that low as to say this to a fellow human being. In one way or another most everybody in this world today, KG included, has been affected by this nasty disease.
Okay. Now let's say Kevin Garnett, Danny Ainge, and Doc Rivers words are all true and KG did in fact tell Villaneuva he was cancerous to his team. That's fine. People throw that out everyday in the media when talking about guys like Stephon Marbury, Allen Iverson, or even Nate Robinson.
If Garnett did say this and Villaneuva was offended by this it wouldn't surprise me at all if he twisted the words to try to make KG look like the bad guy. It is always possible that Villaneuva could have simply misheard Garnett and now feels like such an idiot that he can't go back on his story now.
Regardless, the story should have never been brought to the public's attention. Trash talking happens everyday on the court and it should be reserved only for the ears of players, and those lucky enough to sit courtside.
With all of this being said, this is the first and last time I will sound off on this drama. I'll continue to monitor Kevin Garnett this season but I'm done talking about nobody's like Charles.
