I was watching a few games last night, and it started to make me think a little bit. Obviously, all the teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs have a pretty good degree of depth. This season, depth was clearly one of the weak-spots on a top-heavy Islanders team.Character in every fight.The Islanders 4th-line, in particular, didn't do much of anything this year. Marty Reasoner was brought in to the team to provide a boost to the secondary-scoring along with his face-off prowess, Nino was put in that position as a "Calder candidate," and Jay Pandolfo was put there to be old.I've been thinking about it, obviously in hindsight, and wouldn't the Islanders have just been better off with the guys from last year that were still under contract for the 2011-2012 season?I'm not here to talk about Zenon...
