During my morning whip around while I read different sports blogs and sites, mostly pertaining to our beloved Knicks, ESPN New York broke the news that Landry Fields will be participating in the Rookie All-Star Game. Did you really think he wouldn't?
Fields has been an amazing steal from this year's NBA Draft and is giving the Knicks a huge boost at the shooting guard position. If you were to tell me that Fields would be starting since day one in a Knicks uniform, I'm not going to lie I would have told you to, "Get the heck outta here." On a legit note though, Fields is the real deal.
Fields has been named Rookie of the Month numerous times thus far in the season and recently gave that accolade up to John Wall of the Washington Wizards. Fields is averaging a solid 10 points and six rebounds per contest for the Knicks who have become relevant again and brought back the Garden buzz.
Adding the accomplishment of being one of the NBA's top rookies is certainly an honor. But, further down the road in two to three years, look for Fields to possibly be a recurring member of the actual NBA All-Star Team. Take it to the bank!
