Here's Teddy Greentstein of the Chicago Tribune's latest take which essentially says the Big Ten has to pick it up a bit. (Of course, Jim Delaney has noone to blame but Jim Delaney for this.)
My favorite line?
Delany gladly acknowledged that he reads a packet of daily clips from newspapers and blogs obsessed with Big Ten expansion. "It's a story du jour with lots of twists and turns," he said. He added that in the final analysis, the decisions by the Big Ten and expansion candidates will be "about fit, about destiny."
Destiny? Seriously, destiny? Why are you talking like Henry VIII, Jim? Are you The Highlander? It's the kind of overdramatic junk that makes some of us think this could really have bad long-term implications that noone is considering. You know, like the death of intercollegiate sports. But hey, maybe that's your destiny, Jim.
