Day 2 of the Celtics Summer Forecast on ESPN Boston is now here. About an hour ago Chris Forsberg released the second round of answers in the series. The question: Where will the Celtics finish in the East?
The majority of us "experts" agreed that at the end of the season the C's would end up in the number two or three slot. The average seed of the eight bloggers that answered the question today turned out to be 2.85. We all know the C's can't finish in 2.85nd place, so I guess we'll round up and say the field of experts believe the C's will end up as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
Here was my response to the question:
Once again this coming season, I believe the Celtics will put much of their focus on the postseason, even if that means sacrificing a few games during the regular season. The Heat and Magic will most likely top the Eastern Conference, while the Celtics, Hawks and Bulls fight for the third spot.
I'll follow up my response by saying that I think the Celtics could possibly pull off the #1 seed... IF they wanted to. With the age and experience of this group of guys you can bet your last dollar that they are willing to sacrifice regular season games in exchange for a bigger prize in the end.
