Early last week I was approached by Chris Forsberg from ESPN Boston in regards to a Celtics Summer Forecast he was putting together over at ESPN Boston. If you don't know Chris by now you're missing out. Since bursting onto the scene last season for ESPN Boston, Chris has established himself as one of the premier Celtics reporters. He's always one of the first to break news, and is always delivering awesome TwitVids and TwitPics via his Twitter page.
Chris extended us an invite to join in on the forecast and sent over fifteen questions for us to dissect and answer. After having Chris on The Celtics Late Night Show and working with him on a few different projects I was honored to finally be able to lend him a hand with one of his projects.
Today Chris kicked off the Celtics Summer Forecast on ESPN Boston by introducing the concept and asking the first question: How many wins will the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics end with?
The panel's average prediction: 54-28. That's a four-win upgrade from last season, when Boston finished 50-32 overall.
ESPN.com's national panel of 93 experts picked the Celtics to finish 51-31 in the Eastern Conference standings forecast earlier this month.
I guess you can say I'm not the most optimistic Celtics blogger out there, but I tried to be realistic. Jay King from Celtics Town summed it up the best by saying that they could probably win 60+ games if they wanted to, but they proved last season that the post season is the only thing they care about.
Be sure to check out ESPN Boston daily for the next three weeks to check out what the panel of experts think about a variety of offseason topics.
