So you've drafted some Miami Dolphins onto your fantasy team this year eh?
Excellent! Personally, I ended up stacked with Dolphins on my team, which wasn't me being a homer, but instead me justing taking the value available.
Each week we'll take a look at how players could perform on Sunday, and hopefully we can help you win some of your very own Fantasy Championships.
Chad Henne
Chances are if you have Henne on your team, he's probably your backup QB, or you are in a really deep league (14-16 team), and you waited until late to pick up a quarterback. Either way, Henne is going to be up and down all year. He's not a recommended starter in most weeks, but I'm pretty high on him this year. The Vikings have one of the toughest rushing defenses in the league, and their secondary is not only banged up, but in some sets their 4th DB is a safety... so, I am actually kinda high on Henne this week.
The Dolphins could find themselves playing from behind in this game, and I expect Henne to put up at least 250 yards passing, with 2 TDs.
Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams
Bust Alert! Its hard to call any Dolphin a bust at any time, but its going to be hard for Ricky and Ronnie to find yards this week. The Vikings have had one of the best rushing defenses for a few years now, and they held the Saints Pierre Thomas to 71 yards rushing, and 1 TD. Keep in mind, the Saints are a passing team, so its likely they were facing a defense playing pass, not run. It'll be the exact opposite for the Dolphins.
Ronnie: 14 carries, 65 yards, 0 TDsRicky: 10 carries, 40 yards, 3 receptions, 35 yards, 1 Rec TD.
Anthony Fasano
Fasano is hopefully on his way to regaining his 2008 form, and this might be one of the games to get himself moving that way. Henne seems to like Fasano as a bail out option, and he will probably give him a few looks on 2nd and long, and 3rd and medium. Don't expect a huge production day, but if you are stuck for a TE, he'll likely throw up a few points.
Fasano: 3 catches, 45 yards, 0 TDs
Brandon Marshall
I don't need to tell you that Marshall is a one of the top WR's in the game. But what I will tell you is that Marshall was targeted 13 times by Henne against Buffalo's very good secondary. So what does that tell you?
It tells you Henne likes throwing to Marshall. With the Vikings great rushing defense, expect Marshall to be thrown at early, and often. The Dolphins will lean on Marshall this game....if he's on your roster, you probably don't need to be told to start him, but if you are on the fence, hit your forehead with your palm, and then get him in there! (I did)
Marshall: 9 catches, 125 yards, 1 TD
Dan Carpenter
DC$ should have a pretty good outing this week as he'll be kicking in a dome. He should have a few chances, and if your team rewards kicks based on yardage, then expect a few 40 yard attempts this week. I'm starting him, and so should you.
Carpenter: 3 FGs, 2 XPs
Dolphins
Mike Nolan has done wonderful things with the Dolphins defense in the offseason. They are currently ranked the #1 Defense in the NFL..... however, that was against an anemic Buffalo offense. We really don't know what the Dolphins defense is going to do against a good offense, so I can't endorse starting them this week unless you have no choice. I'm sitting them, and I expect you can find a better match up then the Vikings juggernaut of an offense.
Dolphins: 23 points allowed, 360 total yards
