Doc misses practice due to throat surgery

Doc Rivers was absent from today's practice at the Celtics training facility in Waltham. Doc is currently recovering from a "minor" throat surgery he underwent Sunday morning. The team explains that they knew about the procedure before hand and Doc should return as early as Tuesday.
Lawrence Frank, in what may be a sign of things to come, took over head coaching duties for the Celtics during today's practice in Doc's absence. The Celtics are currently preparing for their final preseason game Wendesday against the New Jersey Nets at the TD Garden.
We wish Doc the best and look forward to seeing him back on the court tomorrow!
